Reports from Italy have continued to suggest over recent months that a number of top Serie A sides are eyeing a move for Dragusin.
Manea has now specifically addressed the speculation linking the 22-year-old with a move to Napoli, explaining that while the defender would love to play for former Spurs boss, Antonio Conte, he remains happy in the Premier League.
The Tottenham defender’s representative told Per Sempre Calcio: “He misses Italy, who knows, he might even come back in the future. But at the moment the strongest league is the English one, so it’s hard to say that it’s not a pleasure to play there.
“Yes, Napoli were interested. I also spoke to De Laurentiis, who was very kind. But it was too late: Tottenham had already started negotiations a month earlier and then Bayern Munich also got involved. In the end, the boy chose Spurs.
“All the players in the world would like to be trained by Conte to improve, he is a stratospheric level coach. But for now, I can’t say anything, because Dragusin has a long contract with Tottenham.”
While the defender is not expected to kick a ball again this season, Manea has now explained that he has initially responded well to the surgical procedure.
He added: “Radu faced the operation with great determination and is recovering quickly. After only two days of surgery, he was already able to put pressure on his knee. The muscles and other ligaments were fine, so it was just an unfortunate episode.
“At only 23 years old, the operation was inevitable to ensure a full recovery. If he had been 35, perhaps he could have avoided the operation and continued playing.”
