Chelsea open the door for Newcastle United to sign Noni Madueke
The Chelsea winger was a major target for Newcastle United in the summer of 2024.
It was even reported that Newcastle saw Madueke as the ‘perfect player’, only for him to remain at Stamford Bridge.
However, that could change in 2025.
According to TalkSPORT, Chelsea could opt to sell Madueke at the end of the season.
They report that Newcastle and Aston Villa are watching the attacker’s situation with interest, as Chelsea make a plan to increase their summer transfer budget.
Chelsea wanted huge money for Noni Madueke in 2024
While Newcastle appreciated Madueke’s potential last summer, a deal was never possible once rumours of Chelsea’s valuation emerged.
It was reported that Chelsea valued Madueke at £60million – more than double what they paid to sign him from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023.
Whether or not Chelsea believe Madueke is still worth that much remains to be seen. If they do then it is difficult to envision the Magpies making an official move.
While Eddie Howe really likes Madueke, there is better value available elsewhere if Chelsea’s stance remains unchanged.
Newcastle do have other wingers on their radar. They have been linked with the likes of Tyler Dibling and Johan Bakayoko, while Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Newcastle are interested in Yeremy Pino from Villarreal.
