In an exclusive interview with Japanese media outlet, Nikkan Sports, Kyogo Furuhashi revealed the emotional turmoil he experienced before his last game for Celtic FC.

Furuhashi, who joined Celtic in 2021, made a surprise move to Rennes in January, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable moments at Celtic Park.

“I was a mess before my last game,” Furuhashi admitted, his voice cracking with emotion. “I knew it was going to be my final game for Celtic, and I didn’t want it to end.”

When asked about his mindset before the game, Furuhashi revealed a surprising admission. “I visited the Celtic Park pitch at midnight, the night before my last game,” he said. “I just wanted to take in the atmosphere one last time, to feel the energy of the stadium.”

Furuhashi described the experience as “surreal” and “emotional,” saying that he felt the weight of his decision to leave Celtic. “I knew I was leaving behind a part of myself,” he said. “Celtic will always be my home, no matter where I play.”

Furuhashi’s emotional interview has sparked a wave of nostalgia among Celtic fans, who took to social media to express their gratitude for the forward’s honesty.

“Kyogo Furuhashi will always be a Celtic legend,” one fan tweeted. “We’ll never forget his passion and dedication.”

As for Furuhashi, he’s focused on his new challenge at Rennes, but his heart remains at Celtic Park. “Celtic will always be a part of me,” he said. “I’ll never forget the memories I made there.”
