Jarrad Branthwaite could put a dampener on what promises to be an otherwise exciting summer for Everton Football Club.

After a depressing couple of years at Everton, the Toffees look almost guaranteed to avoid relegation this season and will be moving to Bramley-Moore Dock under the Friedkin Group next year.
Therefore, there is plenty to be optimistic about. However, Branthwaite could derail some of Everton’s momentum ahead of next season.
Branthwaite is considering his future at Everton
As reported by GiveMeSport (25 March), Everton will make it clear to potential suitors that Branthwaite isn’t for sale in the upcoming transfer window.
This is despite Sky Sports reporting on Monday (24 March) that Branthwaite is considering his future with the Toffees after missing out on the England squad during the March international break.
However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes Branthwaite should stay put, especially as a contract worth £150,000-a-week could be put on the table.
“I don’t think there will be any issues if Everton don’t let him leave,” King said.

“If he has got a decent contract offer from the club, there will be some good incentives in that contract to stay. Everton have brought Branthwaite through from nothing. Loyalty used to be one of the main things in football, and I think it should continue to be one of the main things in football.
“Branthwaite needs to remember he has got a new manager who is right behind him. He will play for England at some stage; that is for sure. However, I’m afraid, Mr. Branthwaite, it isn’t you calling the shots; it is the football club. Everton want to show faith because the manager wants to build the team around you. You’ll be offered a contract which reflects that.
“If things don’t work out over the next 18 months, they might consider moving you on, but just get on with the job at hand – which is playing for Everton Football Club.”
Everton need to make a decision on Branthwaite
Branthwaite will only have two years left on his contract this summer.
Therefore, if the 22-year-old doesn’t put pen to paper and also remains at Everton, the Toffees are at risk of letting arguably their most valuable asset enter the final year of his contract.
As a result, a decision will likely need to be made this summer.
