Arsenal transfer target Alexander Isak has sent a message following Newcastle United’s Carabao Cup celebrations.
The striker was on the scoresheet two weeks ago when the Magpies came out as 2-1 winners over Liverpool at Wembley Stadium. Following his return from international duty with Sweden, Isak was part of the open top bus parade around the streets of Newcastle.
With the transfer window around the corner and Arsenal keen to add to their attacking options, Isak is a name that keeps popping up. But they are not alone in their interest, with Liverpool also said to be keen on the striker.
Arsenal will also face resistance from Newcastle, who will be fighting to keep hold of their star man. It is said that the club will demand a price of at least £150 million should they sell this summer.
The latest update from Isak himself hints that he may not push for a move away from St James’ Park this season. Following the Carabao Cup parade on Saturday, the striker took to Instagram to send a message to Newcastle fans.
Sharing pictures and videos from the day, Isak added the caption: “What a memorable day! Love you all!” along with black and white heart emojis.
The player also spoke of his feelings during the parade when interviewed on stage by Ant and Dec. “It’s impossible to describe this feeling,” he said.
“I scored a goal a minute earlier which was offside. My goal was probably the biggest of my career. Obviously, with it getting us the win in the end. It felt amazing.
“The support means the world to us. But it means more to see how much this means to the people. We’re so happy to give the city and the fans.”
