Sandro Tonali has been linked with a move away from Newcastle United this summer, with a return to Italy possibly on the cards.
It has been quite the season for the Italian, who looked like he had barely missed a second of action, despite being suspended for 10 months.

Sandro Tonali had a sensational debut for Newcastle United when he found the back of the net at the start of the 2023/24 season. Many fans believed Tonali was destined for great things, but his progress was brought to a halt when he was banned from all footballing action for 10 months.
However, the 24-year-old is back in Newcastle’s first-team squad and has completely transformed the way the club are able to play under Eddie Howe. Tonali has adopted a deeper midfielder role for Newcastle this season – a move that has proved very successful.
Tonali has been linked with a Newcastle exit this summer, with reports claiming that clubs like Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan are all keen on his signature.
The Italian media suggested Tonali would cost £50m earlier this week, a truly ludicrous fee based on how much the Magpies initially paid for him in 2023.
With his future seemingly up in the air, Tonali himself has responded to what he thinks of those transfer rumours.

Sandro Tonali’s blunt response to Newcastle exit rumours
Tonali will be part of Newcastle’s Carabao Cup celebrations on Saturday, with the players set to embark on an open-top bus parade throughout the city before taking to the stage on the Town Moor in front of an estimated 100,000 fans.
While preparations for the event have been underway, Tonali played for the Italian national team, scoring in a 2-1 defeat to Germany last week.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Tonali was asked about the recent transfer rumours and what he truly thinks of them – his answer won’t fill Newcastle fans with much hope.
“No (I don’t look at transfer speculation), because I don’t use a lot of my phone,” he said.
“I use it for my family, not for social media. I have social media but I use it maybe after a game and not for transfers.
(On whether he stopped using social media because of his ban) “Not for the gambling, but for my life. When I was 17, it was similar, I was very young but I never used my phone for a lot of social media. Just for my family.”

If they were to sell him, Newcastle are looking for at least £70m for Tonali, but the transfer fee could still be as much as £85m.
“I feel (happy) for every place in Newcastle, it was the same after one month, it’s the same after two years. For these fans, it’s the same, the football is so lovely.”
Newcastle’s bus parade is set to be one of the biggest events the city has ever seen. The streets of the city will be a sea of black and white as the bus drives through.

In the same interview, Tonali was asked who he believes will be at the front of the bus celebrating the most. Keith Downie, the interviewer, believed it would be Dan Burn after his sensational week.
“It’s difficult for the other players (if Dan Burn is at the front of the bus). I think Bruno (Guimaraes) 100% and I have to say the gaffer because he deserves everything. He’s a big person for us, for the players and for every member of staff. He’s a different gaffer and I like working with him.”
