Newcastle obey strict parade rule set by Eddie Howe as Ant & Dec gag Toon star

Newcastle United stars were all happy to agree to one rule set by Eddie Howe on their big day as the Magpies paraded the Carabao Cup trophy through the streets of the city.
Having spent some downtime in Dubai in the immediate aftermath of the victory over Liverpool, Howe imposed a cut off point to the players which each and every player was happy to agree to. It meant that Newcastle stars were tee total for the day as fans glugged cans of cider and Brown Ale on the city streets.
However, the victory bus was dry and even the VIP suite in which the players headed to at the Town Moor before and after the Carabao Cup hoist was not serving booze. Instead, players enjoyed soft drinks, chocolate and pizza at the after party.

Training resumed on Friday and a booze ban was put in place for Eddie Howe’s stars. But not one player complained as the non-international players were afforded some time to relax and have a beer in the Middle East last week.
The theme was well received around the big stage where the parade took place as Newcastle slogans read: “Just the beginning.” Howe then demanded one last push on stage to which the crowd roared their approval. Howe said: “We hope it is just the beginning. It is very difficult to make any promises. But the promise we can give is we will give absolutely everything in every game to try to bring long-term success to this football club.
“The devotion and passion you give us means it is the least we can do and that’s what we can do moving forward. But we still have work to do in the last 10 games.”

Bruno Guimaraes warned by Ant & Dec
Bruno had already mocked Sunderland before being warned by Ant & Dec to keep it clean. And when he demanded the microphone again, Ant warned him that he could only have it back if he didn’t swear.
The Brazilian then led the crowd with a rousing rendition of: “La, la, la – Geordies!” However, despite plenty of youngsters around the crowd did not appear to mind Bruno’s antics.
Howe called “unsung heroes” to the front of the stage
After each star and back-up player has enjoyed their moment on stage, Howe was keen to make sure some of the backroom team that don’t get a mention got their opportunity to enjoy the moment.
Howe called forward the likes of player liaison office Tony Toward, groundsman Mick Curran and kitmen Ray Thompson and Neil Stoker.
It summer up the team spirit behind the scenes as Newcastle stars soaked up the success story.
