NEWCASTLE FANS SENDS A HEARTWARMING LETTERS TO THE CLUB – HAVING THEIR SAY ONCE AGAIN AHEAD OF BRENTFORD

Dear Mag,

It just crossed my mind that the catalyst behind this fabulous success hasn’t had much of a mention.

Wor Mandy, who was instrumental in getting the Saudis interested in the first place, has been a bit overlooked.

Behind the scenes we have had 4 hugely influential people in our history.

Frank Watt who brought Edwardian glory to the Toon

Stan Seymour, the ex-player who masterminded the 3 FA cup wins in 5 years in the 50s

Johnny Hall who breathed life back into a corpse in 1992.

Amanda Staveley, who was instrumental in turning us into the world’s wealthiest club (Hamstrung though we are, by our terrified rivals).

BTW, as a lad I watched the open top bus parades in ’51, ’52 and ’55.

2025 was the best and as an 83 year old season ticket holder, I cannot thank Eddie and the players enough for giving us wor pride back.

Dear Mag,

Does anyone remember that back in June last year, Aston Villa proposed a change to the PSR calculations that clubs could post maximum 3 yearly losses of £105 million.

They proposed an increase to £135 million over 3 years, which wasn’t a massive improvement on things, but definitely a step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, only 4 clubs voted in favour of the proposal and we were stuck with the status quo remaining unchanged.

However, moving on to the present day and we now have 3 of the aforementioned 4 (Man City, Forest and Villa) in the FA Cup Semi finals and the other club are the newly crowned EFL Cup winners, that’s us by the way.

So the message to Richard Masters’ “elite” group and associated hangers on is, We’re all coming for you and shame on the rest of you for your lack of support.

Dear Mag,

Hi, before joining the army, I followed Newcastle Home and Away all over the country from 13 years old and even picked Arthur Cox up at Huddersfield when we won promotion.

I was there the first game of the season at Old Trafford when we took 18,000 fans there and not being proud of it, we charged the Stretford end and they all ran away.

I stood in the Leazes end and climbed up the floodlights when Blyth Spartans took on Wrexham.

I love the ground, the stadium.

I know it probably won’t happen in my lifetime, but I would love to voice it here with you.

We have the money, we have the know how, we have the people, so we must find a way…

The Town Moor is the perfect location for a super city mega stadium, that would put Newcastle on the map for the next 200 years if it was done right, there would be no infrastructure problems. Everyone knows the Town Moor is central to the whole of Newcastle, where East meets West, South meets north.

It could be the citadel, the last outpost. It could be surrounded in a castle like circumference to give it that aged effect with a new modern stadium inside that can be used for everyone and everything.

It would generate so much money for the city, put Newcastle on the world map for generations to come And above all be idolised all over the world.

I really can’t believe that we’re potentially missing a golden opportunity because of a few old-fashioned rules about being able to put your cows to graze. I love the outdoors and I’m all for nature but come on, the only memories I’ve got of the Town Moor is getting soaking wet when the fair was on and getting my front tooth knocked out sledging on the big hill that was made from all the earth that was moved to make the motorway and lastly, it is still walking distance from the centre of town as was proved by the victory parade, a bit like Wembley Way.

I’m lying in hospital at the moment having just suffered a heart attack on the aftermath of watching the parade and getting too excited, I served my country for 25 years in a Special Regiment in Hereford and would love to hear from you.

PS All my WhatsApp group friends are season ticket holders at Newcastle and they all say the same thing, so I don’t know where they get these fans from who say only one percent want a new stadium.
