David Moyes moots Everton exit possibility amid ‘really concerned’ claim

David Moyes’ future does not appear fully guaranteed as Everton continue to fight to keep their place in the Premier League ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
The Friedkin Group have wasted no time at Everton in making drastic changes at Goodison Park, finally parting ways with Sean Dyche as the Toffees sank closer and closer to the relegation zone.
Under Moyes, the Blues are unbeaten in nine league matches, and the Scot now boasts a rather impressive 18 per cent loss rate since taking over in mid-January.
With just nine matches of the season remaining, Everton are 17 points clear of the dropzone, meaning that an utter disaster would need to emerge if the team were to be playing Championship football next term.
Despite this, Moyes has remained has refused to visit the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium until safety is confirmed mathematically, reasoning that he likely won’t be in charge next term if not.

Speaking via talkSPORT [2 April], Moyes told Jim White: “I’ve not been to the new stadium, and I’m not going to visit until I feel we are safe. The league table looks a lot easier than when I first came in. There’s a better feeling than when I arrived.

“If we were going to be a Championship team, I don’t know if it would be me still doing the job. I want to make sure that when I do go, we’re guaranteed to be a Premier League team. It’s looking like that but football can change.”
He went on to admit that while he is very pleased with how his return has gone he feared he may spoil his legacy at Everton by going back: “When I took over, I was really concerned that this could be something that I regret for the rest of my days because I had 11 great years at Everton, but it would have looked terrible had I gotten them relegated.”

While Moyes is not letting up about his future prospects, supporters are gearing up for a summer of change under new leadership, and rightly so after the new owners’ promises.
Everton have been warned against a new deal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Jarrad Branthwaite, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jack Harrison all being linked with exits at the end of the season.

A rebuild of the squad will not be rapid, like many supporters are expecting, but selling a couple of big-name stars could certainly help fund a few new transfers ahead of the next season.
Controversially, Liverpool’s Ben Doak is one of the latest players to be linked with Everton, and considering his performances in the Championship this season, it is no wonder.
