The Nottingham Forest match Ola Aina is now expected to return from injury for

Nottingham Forest are chasing down a place in the Champions League next season and things are starting to get interesting in the Premier League.

The Reds – led by Nuno Espirito Santo – currently occupy third place in the Premier League table with just eight matches left to play.

Forest beat Manchester United 1-0 last time out, with Anthony Elanga being praised by Rio Ferdinand for his efforts after getting the game’s winner.

The win did come at a bit of a cost, however, with injuries starting to stack up.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Chris Wood missed out, and after just 39 minutes, Ola Aina limped out of the action after appearing to hurt himself unchallenged.

The Reds will be rocked with this news ahead of Saturday’s game, although it might not be quite as bad as things seem.

The Athletic reporter Paul Taylor has claimed that Aina might be back in contention for the game against Everton on Saturday week.

It’s claimed that if he doesn’t make the visit of the Toffees he should be fine for the games after that – including the trip to Wembley to play Manchester City.

Aina has been in fine form this season and hopefully, the Reds can make do without him this weekend and still claim a positive result.

Aina will be huge loss for Forest

The 28-year-old has been a brilliant signing for Forest on a free transfer and will be sorely missed.

Last season, Aina excelled as the team’s left-back and this campaign he’s reverted to his usual position on the right-hand side.

In both positions, he’s been incredible and without a doubt, Forest will find it tricky to get anything at Villa Park without him.

It does, however, feel positive that Aina might return sooner rather than later.

With four home games remaining this season, the Reds will want the strongest team possible available on home soil and hopefully, Aina can be fit for that fixture.
