Everton were in need of a real boost at half time following what was a dreadful first 45 minutes against Arsenal.
David Moyes saw his side come in at the break trailing following Leandro Trossard’s goal to open the scoring.
The Toffees were able to turn things on its head in the second half after Iliman Ndiaye scored an equaliser swiftly after the break.
Questions were asked as Mike Dean slammed Everton’s penalty award with the contact made labelled as ‘soft’.
After losing the Merseyside Derby earlier in the week, Everton desperately needed to provide their fans with a really solid showing at Goodison.
That was certainly not the case in the first half, but what Moyes said to his players in the dressing room clearly worked wonders.

David Moyes gave excellent Everton half-time instructions
Everton fans will have been delighted to see Ndiaye back in action following his long spell out through injury.
Ndiaye returned for the Merseyside Derby, but his first start came in the game on Saturday against the Gunners.
Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, the Senegal international provided insight on what was said by the manager at half-time.
“Obviously it was not good enough in the first half, but he [Moyes] came in the changing room and told us to change,” said Ndiaye.
“He told us to stop, let’s go out and turn things around. Everyone needed to be at it and put more into it.
“We tried to turn things around and that’s what we did.”
Ndiaye has been massively praised this season and he netted his eighth goal of the campaign with the spot kick against David Raya.
Although some are questioning the penalty award, there can be no one questioning the calmness shown by Ndiaye from the spot.

Everton need to nurse Ndiaye back to fitness
It was certainly a huge boost to have Ndiaye back in action against the Gunners.
Everton have struggled going forward over recent weeks with injuries crippling their attacking line.
“It’s great to have him back. We might be pushing it that we’ve got him back so early but we need him and he’s a really important part of our frontline,” Moyes said before the game.
