Rangers star at centre of ‘crazy’ transfer link as two European giants tipped to sign him in shock move..

HE swapped the Netherlands for Scotland last summer.

But less than a year later he’s already being tipped to return to the Eredivisie in a shock transfer move.

Robin Propper has found himself in the transfer rumours once again this week despite failing to live up to expectations in Glasgow so far.

Propper, 31, left FC Twente to replace Connor Goldson at Rangers after the Englishman departed for Cypriot side Omonia.

Gers fans expected big things from the former Twente skipper after he built an impressive reputation for himself in his homeland.

The centre-back spent his full career in the Netherlands before heading to Scotland, having starred for De Graafschap and Heracles Almelo before landing his big break at Twente in 2021.

Propper has had a mixed season since being thrown into the deep end in Scotland, netting an own goal on his debut against Motherwell at Hampden.

Fans haven’t been overly impressed with the player as a whole – even after his goal against Celtic – and he could be one of the players the club plan to shift in the summer to free up funds.

And according to a Dutch journalist, the defender could have interest.

Reporter Mounir Boualin has bizarrely tipped the player to head back to the Eredivisie in the summer.

But he hasn’t suggested a return to Twente for the player.

In fact he has claimed the 31-year-old could be a viable option for Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven or Feyenoord.

Both clubs are believed to be on the hunt for defensive reinforvcements in the summer and he believes Propper could fill a void.

But even he himself has admitted that the shock transfer claim might sound “crazy”.

Speaking on the FC Afkicken podcast, he said: “Maybe a very crazy suggestion, but I would approach Robin Propper to bring him back from Scotland.

“He is old, has experience, is a leech in a positive sense. I like it.

“He can be important in the dressing room, and I don’t think he is too expensive. At Feyenoord or PSV, I would dare to take him as third choice.”
