That’s not to say Osula hasn’t done anything at all since joining Newcastle United from Sheffield United last summer, just that regular first-team minutes have been limited.
The 21-year-old has made only three starts this season, none of which have come in the Premier League.
Eddie Howe, of course, has one of the best strikers in the world in Alexander Isak at his disposal and it would be difficult for any player to replace him.
Callum Wilson is fit again too and provides some experienced cover for the Sweden international.
Still, the England international is coming towards the end of his contract and has been tipped to leave this summer.
Indeed, Newcastle fans want to see Osula replace Wilson in the pecking order, having seen some encouraging signs during his cameos thus far.

Newcastle paid around £10million to sign Osula, though are yet to really try him in the Premier League.
In fact, Howe reportedly doesn’t trust Osula at elite level just yet, perhaps explaining his lack of action.
Given his lack of game time, Craig Hope of The Daily Mail was asked about the striker’s standing behind the scenes at the Newcastle United training ground.
Hope revealed that the coaching staff have been impressed by the forward and that they believe there is something to work with.
“What I can say is the reports I’m getting back,” he said during a video posted on YouTube.
“They like him, he’s improved, there’s something to work with there and I would expect to see the Will Osula project continue into next season.”
How fast is William Osula?
The forward has shown glimpses of potential, particularly after Osula scored a memorable first Newcastle goal against Bromley in the FA Cup.
Interestingly, Lewis Hall believes Osula is almost as fast as Anthony Gordon, so perhaps he’d be a great option to bring on late in games during the run-in.
The stakes are high between now and the end of the season but Osula can still play a part. Seemingly set to stay next season too, the hope will be that he develops further.
