Everton came back from behind to claim a point against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
It was a pretty drab encounter, but Everton fans agreed that Idrissa Gana Gueye was the Man of the Match.
Gueye has been one of the most consistent performers for Everton this season and looks well-placed to earn a one-year deal in the summer.
Aside from that, the other positive was Dwight McNeil returning to action as he made his first appearance under David Moyes.
McNeil has been absent with a knee injury since the first week of December, so he came on to a great ovation from the Goodison Park faithful.
Iliman Ndiaye has also recently returned from injury and made his first start since mid-February, marking it with a goal from the penalty spot.
That said, Newcastle United star William Osula has a message for Ndiaye.
Ndiaye has already established himself as one of Everton’s finest signings in recent years, as he netted his ninth goal of the season yesterday.
Ndiaye wants to become the best player in the world and whilst he’s still some way off that, it shows the elite mentality he has.
The Everton playmaker took to social media after the game and thanked fans for their support on his first game back at Goodison since the injury.
“Happy to be back playing at home. Let’s make the most of it and enjoy the last few games at Goodison Park,” Ndiaye wrote.
“Thanks for your support and UTT!”
Replying in the comments section, Newcastle United striker William Osulu said: “He’s backkk too easyyyyy!!!”
Osulu played with Ndiaye during their time together at Sheffield United and clearly keeps tabs on how the Senegal international is progressing on Merseyside.
Jesper Lindstrom and Asmir Begovic also left supportive emojis under his post.
Ndiaye reveals what David Moyes said at half-time vs Arsenal
Ndiaye, speaking to TNT Sport, revealed what inspiring words Moyes had for his side at half-time against the Gunners.
“Obviously it was not good enough in the first half, but he (Moyes) came in the changing room and told us to change,” the former Sheffield United attacker said.
“He told us to stop, let’s go out and turn things around. Everyone needed to be at it and put more into it.
“We tried to turn things around and that’s what we did.”
Indeed, Everton managed to level just minutes after the half-time interval, so clearly, Moyes’ team talk worked a treat.
Attention now turns to next Saturday as the Toffees travel to high-flying Nottingham Forest.
