Tel wasn’t the only one with cause for celebration on Sunday. Club captain Heung-min Son also made headlines, as he joined an elite group of Tottenham Hotspur legends during the win over Southampton.
Having started the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Son clocked his 450th appearance for Spurs, becoming only the seventh player in the club’s history to reach that figure — a feat confirmed by the official Tottenham website.
The South Korean now finds himself among Spurs royalty, rubbing shoulders with the likes of record holder Steve Perryman (854), Gary Mabbutt (611), Pat Jennings (590), Cyril Knowles (506), Glenn Hoddle (490) and Ted Ditchburn (452).
Why Son’s Spurs legacy keeps growing and growing
Since arriving in north London, Son’s journey has been nothing short of iconic — a Champions League finalist in 2019, a FIFA Puskas Award winner in 2020 and the Premier League Golden Boot holder in 2022.
