Everton are expected to sign Dávid Hancko ahead of Chelsea as an update emerges on the Feyenoord defender’s availability.
David Moyes has steered Everton away from a relegation battle, with the Toffees 15 points clear of the drop zone with seven games remaining.
As a result, there is little left to play for in the Premier League, which means Moyes and the Friedkin Group are already likely to be looking ahead to a big summer on Merseyside.
Everton will officially move from Goodison Park to Bramley-Moore Dock, and they will likely also be active in the transfer window, especially on the defensive front.
Everton want to sign Dávid Hancko from Feyenoord
At least one defender is expected to leave Everton this summer.
Michael Keane is out of contract at the end of the season, while Jarrad Branthwaite’s future remains uncertain. Therefore, a new centre-back will most likely be needed as Everton move into Bramley-Moore Dock.
As reported by Foot Mercato (2 April), Everton want to sign Hancko, and have already made contact with Feyenoord over a potential transfer.

A host of top European clubs are interested in the 27-year-old, who Feyenoord are resigned to losing as long as their £34.1million price tag is met [CaughtOffside].
There is thought to be some flexibility on that fee, with Chelsea currently leading the race.
However, ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks Hancko would prefer a move to Everton over Stamford Bridge.
“This would be a good signing for Everton,” King said.
“I think Everton can beat Chelsea to Hancko’s signature. If I was this player and I’m playing for Feyenoord, I would be looking to move to Everton where I would be a regular football player, rather than go to Chelsea where players seem to be in and out of the team.
“This is a player who needs minutes, and if he is going to play two in six, that is not what you need. However, if he is going to play six in six, as he probably would at Everton, that is the place for him.”
Everton could make a statement by signing Hancko
If Everton were able to beat Chelsea to Hancko’s signature, that would be a real statement of intent.
It would demonstrate that the Friedkin Group are serious about pushing the club forward under Moyes and would be a significant boost to the squad as the Toffees kick off a new era at Bramley-Moore Dock.
