David Moyes has revitalised Everton since his return to Goodison Park earlier in the season.
Although they were just one point above the bottom three upon his arrival, the Toffees now sit 15 points clear of the drop and don’t have to worry about relegation.
Moyes’ management has seen plenty of players improve their standards, although Youssef Chermiti is yet to feel the impact, having just returned from injury.
Chermiti provides Everton future update
Chermiti has had a terrible season on a personal level, having missed the majority of the campaign due to a foot injury, then a hamstring injury kept him sidelined.
Having recently returned to fitness, the forward has made two appearances, both from the bench, totalling 15 minutes of game time.
With seven games left to play this season, Chermiti may well be given more of a chance by Moyes as he rebuilds his minutes.
Speaking about what the future might hold, the 20-year-old told Everton: “I wouldn’t say I’m in a ‘good moment. I am happy to be fit again and happy to be fighting for my place. I’m hungry to make my mark and contribute to the team, for sure.
“I’m not thinking too much about anything other than my performances each day. I don’t want to think about next season, or further into the future, I’m focusing on right now, and I want to show my abilities.”
Moyes could have new player on his hands
As Moyes looks ahead to the summer transfer window, he will be well aware of how important it will be for Everton’s future.
However, despite having an increased budget under the Friedkin Group, the Toffees won’t be prepared to go crazy and, rather, will be keen to work sustainably and build the side back up into a good place.
Chermiti has been incredibly unlucky this season, but given he is still so young and also under contract until 2027, Moyes could find that he unleashes practically a new player.

The Blues certainly need attacking reinforcement, and Beto has shown that form can improve dramatically under the new way of playing, which should make the forward excited.
Chermiti will certainly have to prove himself to the new boss, but Moyes has to be prepared to look at solutions from inside the camp, and this could well prove to be one of them.
