Antonio Conte’s biggest dream of the summer transfer window is to poach one key Tottenham man, with a new report from Italy talking up Napoli’s chance of prising the player away from the North London club.
Tottenham Hotspur fans who have followed Spurs Web’s regular coverage may have already guessed the player that is being referred to in this report.
It has been claimed by a number of sources over recent weeks that Antonio Conte wants to reunite with Dejan Kulusevski at Napoli this summer.
However, doing so is not expected to be easy for Napoli as some outlets have claimed that it will take an offer well over £50m for Tottenham to consider selling Kulusevski.
Antonio Conte gives Dejan Kulusevski directive to Napoli hierarchy
AreaNapoli have now become the latest outlet to report on Napoli’s interest in the Tottenham winger, describing him as Antonio Conte’s ‘dream’ signing of the summer window.
The report says that Kulusevski fits the ‘ideal prototype that Conte likes’, with the former Spurs boss desperate to reunite with the player at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
The Italian manager believes that the Swede’s characteristics will complement the qualities of the other midfielders in his squad.
In fact, the 55-year-old has already spoken to the Napoli hierarchy about his appreciation for Kulusveski, with the club’s sporting director now working on fulfilling Conte’s dream.
Will Kulusevski push for a move away from Spurs?
Tottenham will likely not entertain any offers for Kulusevski and they remain well-protected since the player’s contract runs until 2028.
However, the risk for the Premier League side is that the winger’s head could be turned if Spurs once again fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Unless the North London club manage to win the Europa League, they could be set for a very challenging summer window.
