High flying Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is open to the idea of meeting with head coach of the Super Eagles Eric Chelle to discuss playing for the senior national team of Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Tim who is of Nigerian descent has represented England at various youth levels but he is still eligible for Nigeria at senior level, and Chelle is said to be considering an approach to the 21 year old who has played in 15 games for Everton this season.
The idea is to have a meeting to discuss how he will fit into the Super Eagles squad, and be a mainstay in the midfield for a very long time. A meeting likely to take place at the end of the season when the Super Eagles are expected to be in London for a three nations invitational tournament involving Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana and Jamaica.
Sources say Tim has given his greenlight to the idea with a date now up to Chelle, who will in the coming days begin a tour of Europe to speak with some players of Nigerian descent on the idea of playing for the Super Eagles.
