The Magpies will be going in search of ending a 94-year-long streak of not managing to do the league double over the Red Devils.
This will be Newcastle’s best chance in a long time to put that record to bed as Manchester United have been struggling all season, and Eddie Howe has managed to turn the tide against Man United of late.
Obviously, it won’t be as easy as it was on Monday against Leicester, and there can be no room for complacency, but Newcastle must feel that they go into this one as favourites.
Newcastle United will get an easy win according to Chris Sutton
So far every score prediction we’ve seen has the home side emerging victorious and it has been no different for the BBC’s Chris Sutton who can’t see past a Newcastle win.
“It does feel like Ruben Amorim is steadying the ship at Manchester United but there is nothing much for them to get excited about in the Premier League and it could be a pretty dull end to their domestic campaign, especially because they are finding it difficult to score goals.
“Like Tottenham, United’s season is hanging on the Europa League now, but their Premier League results still matter for Amorim because he needs to put some credit into the bank going into next season.
“I just can’t see past a Newcastle win here, though. They are one of the teams in this race for the Champions League places and are in great form. Now we know the top five are guaranteed to get in, I am confident they will make it.
“It just shows the value of winning the Carabao Cup because it seems like it has given them a big leg up.
“They will have enjoyed themselves celebrating for a few days but now they are focused on making it into the Champions League, which is so important because of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.
“If they make it, it gives them the opportunity to build.

Andre Onana needs to be targeted by Alexander Isak to force errors
Let’s hope that Alexander Isak is feeling saucy on Sunday with Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana seemingly back in his clown phase with a host of errors against Lyon in midweek.
Isak should be able to force the dodgy keeper into a cracking error or two if he’s in the mood.
The big worry for me is that I’ve never been this confident going into a game against Manchester United in my life, and usually when I’m confident is when our lads take a day off and get beat. So, let’s hope we have none of that business on Sunday.
