The England international has spoken out about Newcastle United recently ending their trophy drought, with Eddie Howe’s side deservedly beating Liverpool at Wembley.
The Magpies played incredibly well in the Carabao Cup final, and the scenes afterwards have been amazing. The party refuses to stop, as Newcastle United fans celebrate winning their first domestic trophy since 1955.

Kyle Walker pays tribute to Newcastle United fans
In the eyes of Kyle Walker, it is exactly what the Toon Army deserve after so many years without success.
Walker, who is currently on loan at AC Milan from Manchester City, has spoken about Newcastle lifting the Carabao Cup on the latest episode of the Kyle Walker podcast alongside Michael Brown.
“I’d like to say congratulations to Newcastle for winning the Carabao Cup,” he said.
“With not being in the Premier League now, I feel like I can speak a little bit more openly about it.
“For Newcastle, for the owners and the money they’ve spent. For the city, the fans are second to none. For them to actually go down there after so many years of not winning anything and finally get their hands on that trophy.”
Kyle Walker played with Dan Burn immediately after Wembley win
After winning the Carabao Cup, various members of the Newcastle United squad immediately went away on international duty.
That included Dan Burn, who followed up scoring at Wembley and ending Newcastle’s trophy drought by making his England debut.
The 32-year-old started in Thomas Tuchel’s first game as England boss in a defence that also included Walker, and the veteran right-back admitted that Burn was right at home with the Three Lions squad.
“Obviously big Dan Burn scoring, being a Newcastle fan himself,” Walker added.
“He knows just what it means to everyone. He took that form straight into the international and settled in really well for his first call up.”
After impressing on his England debut, it remains to be seen if Burn will continue to be part of Tuchel’s squad as he aims to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
England’s next set of games are in June after the domestic season comes to an end, and it will be interesting to see if Burn retains his place in the squad for the World Cup qualifier against Andorra and the friendly versus Senegal.
