Kieran Trippier sent a clear and determined message to Newcastle supporters following a frustrating draw against Brighton.
Newcastle’s push for a Champions League place took a slight hit after a 1-1 draw with Brighton on 4 May.
Yankuba Minteh scored for the visitors against his former club, but the game wasn’t short on controversy.
Eddie Howe’s side had two penalties overturned before Alexander Isak eventually found the net from the spot late in the game to rescue a point.
Midfielder Joe Willock came under fire from some Newcastle fans, with criticism following one of the overturned penalty decisions, where he was accused of diving.
Despite the setbacks and rising tension around the top-five chase, Trippier remained focused in his message to the fanbase, urging them to stay motivated with just a few games left in the season.

Kieran Trippier could leave Newcastle amid growing exit speculation
Trippier had a motivated message for supporters in an Instagram post, writing: “Good to battle back and get the point today. Thanks for the support everyone.”
The message received support from both current and former players, with Newcastle legend Alan Shearer and teammate Joelinton among those liking the post.
Despite the clear unity within the squad, Football Insider has revealed that Trippier is among several players who could be sold this summer, with the club planning to raise funds as part of a wider rebuild.
Trippier came close to a Newcastle exit in the January window, with Turkish side Galatasaray making a strong push for his signature but he ultimately opted to stay at St James’ Park.
Injuries across the squad — including a season-ending blow to Lewis Hall — have meant Trippier’s role has remained crucial. However, questions remain over whether he will be part of Eddie Howe’s plans next season, as the Magpies look to reshape the squad.

Football Insider revealed Newcastle are preparing a move for Guehi once again, who will have just one year remaining on his contract come June. Palace are now reportedly willing to part ways with the centre-back.
Newcastle made multiple attempts to sign Guehi last summer, having three bids turned down. However, with Palace’s stance softening, a renewed pursuit of the long-term target is expected to take place in the coming weeks.

Paul Merson does not think Manchester United have what it takes to beat Newcastle United.

Paul Merson predicts Newcastle vs Manchester United
While Ruben Amorim will be eager to put an end to Newcastle’s strong run of form, former Arsenal attacker Paul Merson does not think the Red Devils are up to the task.
As part of his Premier League predictions for Sportskeeda, Merson has backed Newcastle to beat Manchester United on Sunday.
“Manchester United will frustrate Newcastle, but I still think the Magpies will win this game,” he said.
“Even though United have shown signs of improvement under Ruben Amorim, I don’t think they have it in them to get a win here.
“The race for top four is getting tighter and tighter, meaning Newcastle cannot afford to slip up. Eddie Howe has done enough already in my opinion. Winning that cup was everything for this club. Now getting a top-five finish would be the icing on the cake and they are so nearly there as well!
“If they win this game and get another three points in their game in hand, I think they will finish in the top five.”

Who Newcastle United’s Champions League rivals are playing this weekend
Newcastle United’s closest Champions League rivals are all in action before them this weekend, with Eddie Howe’s side not playing until 4:30pm on Sunday.
Manchester City are first up on Saturday, with Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions entertaining Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium in the 12:30pm game. They will be expected to win that game.
Third-placed Nottingham Forest are also in action on Saturday, taking on Everton at home at 3pm. At the same time, Aston Villa face Southampton, whose relegation was confirmed last weekend.
On Sunday, Chelsea are at home to Ipswich Town. They will be massive favourites for that game, despite losing the reverse fixture at Portman Road.
By the time Newcastle play on Sunday, they could very easily be outside the top five. However, Champions League qualification is still very much in their hands.
