Sandro Tonali once again linked with Newcastle United exit with Premier League and England man eyed as replacement | NUFC Feed

It’s funny isn’t it, all these reports of Sandro Tonali wanting to leave Newcastle United, yet none ever seem to originate from journalists close to the club or indeed Sandro himself.
The Italian media have been at it for months, trying to unsettle the Newcastle midfielder with constant reports of impending bids from Juventus and AC Milan.
Now, Swiss journalist Sacha Tavolieri, of Sky Switzerland has had his turn claiming that Tonali has told Newcastle bosses he wants to leave the club this summer.
If that’s the case, then surely an outlet a bit closer to home would have picked up on this and reported it by now, right?

Eberechi Eze to replace Sandro Tonali?
Newcastle want to replace Sandro Tonali with Eberechi Eze?
Tavolieri goes on to suggest that Real Madrid could be his next destination and that Tonali wants to end his spell with Newcastle as soon as possible.
He also claims that Newcastle already have a replacement in mind in the form of Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze who could be available for £60 million thanks to a release clause in his contract.
Newcastle have shown an interest in Eze in the past, and he may well still be of interest to the Magpies, but he’s hardly a direct replacement for Sandro Tonali, is he? The two aren’t even remotely similar beyond playing in midfield.
We’ll keep swatting the Tonali rumours until we hear different from his camp
You can always say there’s no smoke without fire and that these persistent rumours of Tonali wanting a way out of Newcastle must be coming from somewhere, but as we saw on Monday with the rumour that Alexander Isak didn’t travel to Leicester, daft rumours can travel so fast these days.
There’s every possibility that Tavolieri has been told by someone he trusts that Sandro Tonali wants to leave Newcastle, but unless he’s traced that rumour back to its source, then he can’t say with any certainty that it’s true as he’s clearly not spoken directly with Tonali or his representatives as if he had, he’d have quotes to back up his claims.
The last thing we heard from Tonali’s people is that he’s happy on Tyneside, and until he or they say anything different, we’ll keep swatting at these rumours.
Although it would be nice to bring Ebereche Eze to the Toon, we’re not going to lie.
