Signing Liam Delap is not going to be easy for Newcastle United.
The Magpies are eager to bring in a striker when the summer transfer window opens, with Newcastle interested in Liam Delap.

The 22-year-old appears to be destined to leave Ipswich Town, as they edge closer towards suffering relegation from the Premier League.
If Ipswich are relegated, Delap will be available for £30million.
That relegation release clause makes him a very affordable option for Newcastle United, who have been impressed with Delap during his debut year in the top flight.

Liam Delap’s transfer demands this summer
Multiple clubs are eyeing up his signature, with Newcastle United joined in the race to sign Delap by Manchester United and Chelsea.
They now know that £30million will be enough to land the striker if Ipswich are relegated, and now they know what they must do to convince the player himself.
According to the Telegraph, Delap’s preference will be to join a club where he is first choice.
The Telegraph add that Delap also has a desire to play in Europe, which could also influence where he decides to go when the summer transfer window opens.
What Newcastle United can offer Liam Delap
On the one hand, Newcastle United will be able to offer Delap European football.
After winning the Carabao Cup, Eddie Howe’s side have guaranteed their place in the UEFA Conference League playoff stage for next season.
Of course, the Magpies have greater ambitions than that, and are hoping to qualify for the Champions League with eight games to go.
As for Manchester United, their only hope of being in next season’s Champions League is by winning the Europa League. They are in the quarter-finals of the competition, with Ruben Amorim’s side facing Lyon for a place in the final four.
But while Newcastle will be able to satisfy Delap’s European desires, his other ambition might not be realised at St James’ Park.
Wherever Delap goes, he wants to be first choice. That is no surprise. However, that is a luxury that he will not be afforded at Newcastle United, as that honour belongs to Alexander Isak.
And as Newcastle search for a striker, they want someone to support Isak, rather than replace him. Newcastle intend to keep Isak, despite interest from elsewhere.
While Delap would be an outstanding signing, it is difficult to see how a move to Tyneside would appeal to him as long as Isak is still at the club.
