Everton fans were sent into utter bedlam deep in stoppage time as Abdoulaye Doucoure scored a late winner against Nottingham Forest.
David Moyes’ side put on a good account of themselves at the City Ground, but there was a struggle in the final third.
That was until Doucoure stepped up in the dying moments of the game to calmly slot the ball beyond Matz Sels.
Despite Doucoure scoring the winner, it was Iliman Ndiaye who Gary Neville was impressed by.
It had been almost two months since Everton last tasted three points in their away game against Crystal Palace.
However, Premier League survival has now taken another step closer as the Toffees boast a huge 18-point gap on the bottom three now.
Enjoying their time at the City Ground, Everton fans rubbed salt in the wound for the home fans hoping to see their side seal a top five finish.

Moyes suggested he was going to make changes against Forest and he did just that by starting Armando Broja.
But Everton showed the most threat when the 61-year-old made his substitutions in the second half.
Just before taking the lead deep into injury time, Everton fans were heard mocking the home fans who will be heading home extremely disappointed.
“Champions League, you’re having a laugh,” the away end could be heard chanting at the home fans.
To be fair to the Forest section, they gave it back jokingly singing: “Premier League, you’re having a laugh.”
However, there will only be one set of fans going home on Saturday afternoon in a good mood as Forest were dealt a huge blow to the Champions League hopes.
Abdoulaye Doucoure is expected to leave Everton this summer, but he certainly provided those away fans with a real moment to remember.

Everton fans must be absolutely delighted with the work that has been done by Moyes since he returned to Merseyside.
Neville Southall doesn’t think Moyes should be kept for the long-term, but results like this cannot be denied.
The Toffees have gone toe-to-toe with the side currently third in the Premier League and pulled themselves above Tottenham Hotspur in the process.
Of course, Everton will feel some wins have gotten away from them in the last few months, but Moyes has truly worked magic in comparison to what Sean Dyche was offering.
