The Premier League has claimed that Marshall Munetsi did not impede Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario for Rayan Ait-Nouri’s opener for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
It was the worst possible start for Spurs after Ait-Nouri volleyed into the ground and into the back of the net after just two minutes.

The inswinging free-kick from the left was only partially cleared by the Italian shot-stopper – falling at the feel of the Algerian, who netted his fourth goal of the campaign.

Vicario protested after the strike as he felt he had been fouled in the build-up by Munetsi, after the 28-year-old challenged the dead-ball situation.
In a tweet from Premier League Match Centre, they claimed that Zimbabwean hadn’t infringed the goalkeeper, they said: “The referee’s call of goal was checked and confirmed by VAR – with Munetsi in an offside position but deemed not to be impacting Vicario’s ability to play the ball.”
The Spurs shot-stopper seemingly had to move pas the Wolves attacker and dive for the goalbound effort, as well as defender Ben Davies.

The nightmare start follows on from a difficult period for Ange Postecoglou’s side after one Premier League win in their last five outings.
Pedro Porro’s equaliser in midweek spared increased pressure on the Australian head coach after Hugo Ekitike fired Eintracht Frankfurt into the lead during their Europa League quarter-final first-leg.
Wolves’ early lead continued the fine form under Vitor Pereira after the Midlands club picked up maximum points in each of their previous three Premier League matches to strengthen their position outside of the relegation zone.
A win on Sunday over Tottenham would see Wolves extend their unbeaten run to five matches but Postecoglou may have some grievances with the goal being allowed to stand.
Already this season, the former Celtic boss has taken aim at the “lack of noise” surrounding decisions that go against his side.
In March, he said: “I’ll leave that to the officials but I will say that we don’t carry on like a lot of other clubs and I think that hurts us for sure.
