Richarlison to Everton transfer update ‘as new Tottenham exit timeframe emerges’

Everton could offer former striker Richarlison a lifeline and an opportunity to return to Merseyside this summer.

The Brazil international has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in the summer transfer window after what has been a frustrating period for him.

Richarlison has battled injuries and a lack of game time at Spurs, failing to nail down the first-choice role in the starting XI during his time in London.

At this stage of his career, the Brazilian is looking for regular game time in a bid to make the most out of his time in football during his prime years.

Richarlison will be making exit decision in summer

Richarlison is under contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium until 2027, and that puts him in a strong position to decide his future.

According to TBR Football (14 April), the striker will wait until the summer to determine whether or not his future lies at Spurs.

That is likely due to the fact that Ange Postecoglou’s future is hanging in the balance right now, and a new manager might be desperate to work with him.

Postecoglou has struggled this season at Spurs, and it’s widely believed that he will need to win the Europa League to retain his job.

Tottenham are only looking to sell Richarlison if they can recoup the fee that they paid for him, which means a potential return to Everton would likely be a loan deal.

That’s something that could benefit all parties, though, as 2026 is a World Cup year, and Richarlison wants to be involved in that.

Everton want more attacking options

For David Moyes, bringing Richarlison back to the Toffees could be a perfect move if it were a loan deal, as it wouldn’t impact PSR too much, which has been an issue for Everton.

Richarlison’s qualities are well known and he remains a popular figure amongst the Goodison Park faithful, while it would cover an area of the squad that needs improvement.

Everton need more goals in the team next season, and with Dominic Calvert-Lewin potentially set to leave the Merseyside giants after this season, fresh legs will be needed to replace him.
