ALLY McCoist admitted there was something “pathetic” about the way Rangers celebrated their injury time equaliser against Aberdeen at Pittodrie on Sunday afternoon.

The Ibrox legend was talking to his TalkSPORT co-host and sparring partner Alan Brazil, and he couldn’t resist having a bit of fun at his expense.
McCoist said: “Did you see them celebrating up at Aberdeen with that goal in the 95th minute?”

“Rangers are down to ten men and you’re winning 2-0.
“And then there’s Hibs – David Gray, what a job, he is doing there.
“While I’m at it, Stephen Robinson at St Mirren, they’ve finished in the top six again.”
Brazil then asked McCoist about the next Old Firm game, wrongly wondering if it was at Celtic Park in May.
McCoist replied: “No it’s at Ibrox, we beat you in the last one at Parkhead. Do you not remember? You can’t have them all at Parkhead.”

As for tomorrow night’s huge Europa League second leg clash, McCoist gives Rangers a chance but accepts that Athletic Bilbao are favourites for the tournament, even if they couldn’t break a ten-man Gers team down on Thursday.
He said: “We have a a chance. I mean, they’re favourites for the tournament.
“I would have taken a draw before the game last week, even before the sending off as well.
“You’d have to say Rangers’ best performances have come in Europe, particularly away from home.
“It’s a big, big ask but you never know.”
