Exclusive: Celtic and Rangers race to sign Crystal Palace sensation Jesse Derry

Celtic and Rangers have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace’s England youth international Jesse Derry, sources have told Football Insider.

Clubs across Europe have also contacted the Palace starlet, 17, after being alerted that he had rejected the offer of a professional contract at Selhurst Park.

Derry, who came through the ranks at the Croydon club, is therefore set to leave for a compensation fee this summer – and is attracting interest from Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers.

The winger, who scored the winning goal for England’s Under-18 side against Portugal recently, is thought to be open to a move abroad.

Football Insider revealed in February that Bayern Munich, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid have all watched him in action.

Glasner preparing for Crystal Palace contract talks

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed last week (10 April) that Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is happy at Selhurst Park amid links with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

It is believed the Austrian is preparing for talks over a new contract – with his current deal only set to run until June 2026.

Sources say Glasner is content at Crystal Palace after transforming their form from the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign.
