The Reds could well have European football on the table next season, with Forest currently sitting in third place in the Premier League and nicely poised to qualify for one of the competitions.
Forest wanted a striker in January. However, moves from Yoane Wissa and Matheus Cunha fell south with Brentford and Wolves, respectively, asking for far too much money.
With Europe possibly on the table next season, attracting players might well prove easier, but it feels as though some players will need to leave the City Ground to free up some space.
The Reds need to do some streamlining once more with Nuno Espirito Santo, a manager who is often keen to ensure that he’s working with a close-knit group of players.

Lewis O’Brien wants Swansea City stay
The player signed for £10 million from Huddersfield Town after Forest beat them in the Championship Play-Off Final, is now rediscovering himself at Swansea.
He’s helped the second-tier outfit stay up at a canter, and his performances have quickly seen him become a regular in the team under Alan Sheehan.
Wales Online claims that Swansea are very keen to keep hold of O’Brien, however, there remains a bit of a stumbling block for the Swans to iron out.
As is usually the case when it comes to EFL clubs signing players from the Premier League, the stumbling block comes regarding finances.
O’Brien earns around £15,000-a-week at Forest and Swansea would have to smash their wage budget to afford that, whilst Forest may want to recoup a large amount of the £10 million that he cost the club in 2022.
Still, there is no future for him at Forest and perhaps the best solution for everyone is to make O’Brien affordable so that he can earn a move to a club in the Championship this summer.

The Reds made the decision to sign the player during the summer of 2022, ahead of a maiden season back in the Premier League after 23 years.
He made 14 Premier League appearances for Forest in the first half of 2022/23 but injuries and illness around the time of the World Cup saw him unregistered from the 25-man squad for the second half.
Loan moves to D.C. United and LAFC didn’t work out for him, with a season-long stint at Middlesbrough hampered by a broken leg.
Now, O’Brien is back playing regular football with Swansea and is reminding everyone exactly what he’s capable of when it comes to the Championship.
O’Brien might have a tinge of sadness at how his time at Forest has gone but ultiamtely, he will be seeking a fond farewell to the Reds in the summer and a move to Swansea would be ideal for all parties.
