Bruno Guimaraes caught the attention of club legend Alan Shearer following a brand-new announcement from Newcastle United.
The Brazilian has been instrumental in the Magpies’ charge for a Champions League spot, with their hopes of qualifying for the competition all coming down to the final day of the Premier League season.
Eddie Howe‘s side are set to face Everton at St James Park on Sunday, 25 May, with all three points confirming a spot in the Champions League, whether the sides around them win or lose.
Football Insider understands that Newcastle are confident of keeping Guimaraes this summer with qualification, but there remain question marks over his future due to interest.
Recent signs point to the midfield maestro staying at St James’ Park, especially after being the face of the club’s new kit announcement ahead of next season.

Taking to Instagram (23 May), Guimaraes wrote: “Howay the lads,” showing off the brand-new Newcastle kit ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, gaining plenty of attention online.

Alan Shearer was joined by the likes of Joelinton, Jacob Murphy, Lewis Miley, and Joe Willock, as well as Bournemouth‘s Evanilson, in liking the player’s post.

The Magpies have been held to draws in their last two meetings with the Merseysiders, but if Howe is to keep his most important stars, they must take proceedings into their own hands rather than rely on others.

Bruno Guimaraes took to social media with a new message as rumours continue to swirl around the star’s future at Newcastle United.
Summer exits for Guimaraes and Alexander Isak have been tipped to fund Newcastle’s rebuild under Eddie Howe, but supporters will just be enjoying getting to watch the pair perform at St James’ Park.
While the Magpies managed a sensational 5-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday, 16 April, it was the likes of Joelinton, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy and Fabian Schar who stole the headlines.
Murphy continued his top form before scoring from an outrageous angle, with his teammates then taking it in turns to pile more misery on Oliver Glasner’s trip north.
Howe’s team have now shot up to third in the Premier League table, with just six matches of the campaign remaining, leapfrogging Nottingham Forest to within touching distance of Arsenal.

Isak’s potential departure from Newcastle is really what strikes fear into the loyal supporters ahead of the summer transfer window, now boasting 50 goals over the last two campaigns.
Bringing in so many high-profile players, of course, has been good for the club, but it all draws attention to others at St James’ Park, with plenty linked with exits once the 2024/25 season is over.
However, bringing Champions League football could help keep many of them from eyeing moves elsewhere, with Howe’s side then competing in the best competition in the world already.
