Bayern Munich send disturbing development to Tottenham con Mathys Tel

Bayern Munich have reportedly formulated a new plan for Mathys Tel this summer, which potentially complicates Tottenham’s efforts to sign the forward.

The Frenchman has undoubtedly had a difficult start to life at Tottenham Hotspur, but he has shown signs of improvement over recent weeks, having now found the back of the net in back-to-back Premier League matches.

Ange Postecoglou has insisted that he has been happy with Tel’s progress, but that does not mean that Spurs are willing to activate the £45m option to buy the player.

In fact, a few days ago, Florian Plettenberg claimed that Tottenham have decided to renegotiate a discounted deal for Tel rather than activating the option to buy.

Bayern Munich’s plans for Mathys Tel revealed
Football Insider have now thrown a spanner in the works by revealing that Bayern Munich want the 19-year-old to be part of the Club World Cup campaign this summer.

Tel is thus expected to return to his parent club this summer and play in the tournament before considering his next step.

However, the report suggests that talks will continue between the Premier League side and Bayern about the teenager, with Vincent Kompany’s men yet to make a final decision on his long-term future.

The outlet also backs up what we have heard over recent weeks by stating that Spurs will hope to renegotiate a discounted deal for Tel if the player agrees to move to N17.

London rivals want to beat Tottenham to Tel’s signature
It remains to be seen what the forward will decide ahead of the summer, with some outlets claiming that Tottenham will have to qualify for Europe to land Tel permanently.

The teenager is certainly not expected to be short of options in the summer, just like he was not in January.

In fact, it was claimed by one source last week that Chelsea are ready to pounce on Tel if Tottenham do not agree a permanent deal.
