BBC RELEASES HORRENDOUS SCENE AT IBROX CAUSED BY RANGERS FANS ATTACKING CELTIC FANS

Brendan Rodgers has been blessed to work with the best of the best in Scotland whilst taking the Celtic dugout.

It’s no wonder Celtic are pushing for another Treble and causing untold misery to whoever stands in their way.

St Mirren have faced Celtic on three occasions this term, losing all three matches, 3-0, 3-0, and then the most recent meeting was 5-2 to the Hoops.

In the overall picture, Stephen Robinson’s side have still fared well because they booked their ticket into the top six, and will face the champions-elect again on May 17.

Robinson has tried and tried to stop the juggernaut that is Celtic, but admitted that the way Brendan Rodgers’ side play, they just ‘tire’ you out, and then destroy you.

But the St Mirren boss also wanted to give his flowers to one Celtic player, and how there has been nobody better than him since he moved to Scotland in 2017 to manage Motherwell.

Callum McGregor hailed as the best midfielder in Scotland

Callum McGregor is a Celtic icon and one of the greats to have donned the club’s colours, as he continues to write his name into the history books.

The Celtic captain scored against St Mirren at the start of the campaign, when he found Kyogo’s goalscoring boots, and netted four goals within a month.

Watching from the other dugout, Robinson, whilst speaking to PLZ Soccer, lauded McGregor, and thinks there has been nobody better since the Irishman himself moved to Scotland in 2017.

On if McGregor is the best midfielder during his time in Scotland: “Certainly since I have been here, yeah,” stated Robinson.

“I don’t think there is any that I can rate for consistency as well. Every game.

“When he comes out of the Celtic team, as much as they have loads of talent to come in, they aren’t quite the same without him.”

Robinson on the difficulty of facing Celtic

From winning Trebles under Rodgers, then under Postecoglou, it seems as though McGregor has got bored and decided he wants to achieve such a feat again with his current manager.

This dominance is beyond crazy, and it has never been seen before in Scottish football, as it has also made Celtic Scotland’s most successful club.

Robinson has shared what it has been like on the other side, facing such quality, and then trying to stop it without any success.

“Callum McGregor just makes them tick,” said Robinson. “Everything that happens comes through him. He changes the tempo like that in the final third.

“They have got players who are comfortable being left two-v-two. When we have had any joy, it has been when we have had them on the counter-attack, or been able to bypass and been able to get a small bit of possession, which releases the pressure.

“I think Callum is clever enough, if you go and mark him, he just goes and takes you out of the game, so it’s another man out of the game.

“A man less up front, or it’s a midfielder you release. It’s a man less where they expose you with their high eights as well. A very good side. A very technical side that keeps moving the ball until you tire. It’s difficult to play against.”
