THE Rangers board and the US consortium bidding to takeover the club have spoken for the first time about their “productive conversations” over the future direction of the club.
Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises are in the process of acquiring control 51% of the club’s shares but there had been radio silence from all parties about the deal.

“These discussions reflect a shared recognition of the importance of Rangers FC’s long term direction, ambition and management.”

The Ibrox side have also confirmed Kevin Thelwell as sporting dirctor.
They wrote in a statement: “Thelwell, 51, will join the Light Blues from Everton following the expiry of his contract with the Toffees.

“In 2022, he returned to England to take up the role of Director of Football at Everton, leading on first-team recruitment, academy development, and the implementation of the club’s overall football strategy.”
