Newcastle United player ratings as veteran scores 10/10 in big Magpies win

Kieran Trippier put in a sparkling display to help guide Newcastle United back into the Champions League places.
Having slipped to sixth after Chelsea’s win over Everton, the Magpies dismantled Ipswich and sent them crashing back into the Championship. Newcastle went ahead from the spot after Jacob Murphy had been tripped in the box by Julio Enciso. And Alexander Isak, who’d missed a couple of sitters, regathered is composure to place it past Alex Palmer.
It was 2-0 when Blyth lad Dan Burn headed past Palmer for 2-0 after Kieran Trippier’s cross at the Gallowgate End. The game was wrapped up when sub William Osula rose high to head home after Trippier’s corner.

Put in a shift and did a lot of the untidy work too.

Oozes class and was unlucky not to get a goal as he slammed one against the post.
Jacob Murphy 8
A hand in both goals after winning the penalty and playing part in the second goal. Put in 15 crosses in total and was a lively and dangerous presence.
Harvey Barnes 7
Back to form after a hard working shift.
Alexander Isak 6
Some missed chances but kept his nerve for the penalty before going off.
