Kris Boyd has been brutally trolled after Celtic’s title clinching victory at Tannadice on Saturday saw them go level on 55 championships with Rangers – with a conversation he had with punditry rival Chris Sutton 11 months ago going viral.
After Brendan Rodgers’ side put themselves on the brink of wrapping up their 54th league title with two games to spare last season, Parkhead hero and Record Sport columnist Sutton couldn’t resist poking fun at Gers’ coming out as top dogs in Scotland in just one of the previous 13 years, and joked that their much heralded record of league titles would be matched within a year.
Boyd said: “This club is built on winning league championships and they are going to have to get back to that, to which Sutton replied: “Not in recent times.”
The former Gers goal machine hit back by quipping: “But it has. Still won the most” before Sutton had the final say, stating: “Give it a year.”
A dismal season for Rangers has seem then slump 17 points behind the champions with four games remaining.
Barry Ferguson took over as manager on an interim basis in February following Philippe Clement’s sacking but has seen his hopes of landing the job beyond the summer dashed after his side passed up a lead twice in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with St Mirren.
And now that his prediction has rung true, Sky Sports – who employ both pundits – have wasted no time in mocking Boyd over his defence of Rangers title record.
In a video shared on TikTok on Sunday, Boyd and Sutton’s conversation plays out before the main theme tune from hit US sitcom Curb Your Enthuasiam plays over footage of Rodgers, his players and Hoops fans jubilantly celebrating their latest triumph.

The clip has received nearly 15,000 likes and over 2,659. The Sky Sports troll video was also littered with comments from Celtic fans bathing in the glory at Boyd’s expense.
One user wrote: “Sky Sports taking the mick out of Kris Boyd” while another added: “I can’t stop watching this” followed by several laughing emojis.
A third said: “I wonder how Boyd’s feeling today” while a fourth wrote: Well played Sky Sports”.
