Celtic have stormed to a fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership title this season.

Brendan Rodgers led his side to their latest success with a 5-0 thrashing of Dundee United at Tannadice.

Just a few hours later, the Gers slumped to a 2-2 draw against St Mirren having twice been pegged back.

With four games to go, and the final Old Firm clash on the horizon on Sunday, the newly-crowned champions have a 17-point lead over the Light Blues.

There certainly hasn’t been much to smile about for those of a Rangers persuasion, including club legend McCoist.

So when an opportunity arose to have a little dig at the Hoops’ expense arose, the 62-year old simply couldn’t resist.

With Jeff Stelling off, McCoist stepped-in to the main hosting chair on talkSPORT Breakfast this morning and he was joined by former Watford captain Troy Deeney.

As always, the duo were joined throughout the show by fellow presenter Shebahn Aherne, who’s a big Celtic fan.

However, just before 7am, it wasn’t the Hoops that were the topic of discussion.

Instead, it was Arsenal Women’s triumph of reaching the Champions League Final where they’ll take on the might of Barcelona.

As the discussion came to an end, McCoist asked: “Where’s the final?”

The former striker’s eyes began to light up as Shebahn told him: “Lisbon. a Lisbon final”

McCoist then couldn’t resist a cheeky comment as he brought the segment to a close.

He said: “Absolutely brilliant achievement.

“Congratulations to Arsenal’s women’s team.

“Big, big ask going to Lisbon.

“I can’t think of any British team that’s done anything in Lisbon in a European final.”

With a wry smile on his face, McCoist began to link to the next item.

He said: “Coming up, Liverpool fans, the floor is yours this morning.”

Shebahn, speechless, simply replied: “Bless him. Wow!”

McCoist then cheekily hit back with: “It’s finished Shebahn!”

The ex-Scotland striker’s comment was, of course, a reference to Celtic’s European Cup triumph and an apparent moment of selective memory!

The Hoops’ legendary Lisbon Lions side famously won the biggest prize in European football in the Portuguese city back in 1967.
