However, the jubilant scenes were overshadowed by a viral clip from Sky Sports, where Boyd found himself at the center of a social media storm. The clip revisited a conversation from 11 months prior, where Celtic legend Chris Sutton predicted Celtic would match Rangers’ 55 league titles within a year. Boyd, at the time, dismissed the notion, defending Rangers’ record with confidence. Fast forward to April 2025, and Sutton’s prophecy came true, leaving Boyd to eat his words.
Sky Sports capitalized on the moment, overlaying the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” theme tune on footage of Celtic’s celebrations, with Rodgers, his players, and fans basking in glory. The video, which garnered nearly 15,000 likes and over 2,600 comments on TikTok, saw Celtic fans pile on, relishing Boyd’s discomfort. Undeterred, Boyd fired back, taking a swipe at Rodgers’ comments about Celtic’s dominance being “not easy” and their title celebrations. Boyd’s first point centered on Rangers’ recent supremacy in head-to-head clashes with Celtic.
