Newcastle United interested in Scottish teenager

That is according to the Chronicle, who report that Newcastle United have been conducting scouting missions north of the border in Scotland.

They report that James Wilson has emerged as a player of interest for the Magpies. He is an 18-year-old striker who has already become a regular for Hearts despite being so young.

The teenager has made 28 appearances this season, scoring six goals. Wilson even has European experience, having represented Hearts in the Europa Conference League.

He has attracted interest from Manchester United, Leeds United, Celtic and Rangers in the past, such is his potential.

And it is a potential that Newcastle United would like him to achieve at St James’ Park under the guidance of Eddie Howe.
Newcastle United target available for £30m

At the other end of the spectrum, Newcastle can sign Liam Delap for £30million this summer.

The Magpies are interested in the 22-year-old striker, who suffered relegation to the Championship on Saturday after Newcastle’s 3-0 win over Ipswich Town.

Relegation to the second tier means that Delap’s release clause becomes active. He will be allowed to leave Portman Road for £30million, which is great value for a player of his calibre and potential.

Newcastle think Delap can play with Alexander Isak, as they aim to improve their striker department during the summer transfer window.

The Magpies could go for a ready-made Premier League striker in Delap, or they could bring in another project player in James Wilson.
