Leeds United went into the last day of the season, with the league title on the line. After winning promotion, Daniel Farke’s side were aiming to win the title for the fans.
They had the unenviable task of playing away from home on the last day. Leeds celebrated promotion with their home fans on Monday, and it was an electric atmosphere. Daniel Farke was inspired by the celebrations, and said just before the Plymouth game that he wanted to end the season with the league title:
”We had a fantastic final home game. The connection between the club and the supporters. icing on the cake silverware for the bus tour.
Its pretty useful as you can drink something out of [silverware].”

Saturday’s early kickoff went off to the most terrible start possible. Plymouth managed to take the lead after an unfortunate own goal by Sam Byram. The ball just seemed to ricochet off him from the initial shot by Bundu. Miron Muslic’s side held on for the first half.
Leeds then came flying out after the half time break, with Wilfried Gnonto popping up with the equalizer. The fans and players must have seen the live results from Turf Moor to inspire their comeback. Plymouth looked pleased to take the point in the final home game. The Pilgrims did everything possible to waste time in the last few minutes.

But a moment of magic from Manor Solomon ultimately won the title. He got on the end of a nice one-two with Wilfried Gnonto, showed good footwork to go past a few defenders inside the box, before he rifled the shot low into the corner. Solomon got booked for the excessive celebration as he went into the crowd.
