Celtic are pushing to land Danish striker Mathias Kvistgaarden this summer but face growing competition from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, according to reports.

The 23-year-old Brøndby forward has enjoyed a standout season in the Danish Superliga, scoring 22 goals and providing four assists in 33 appearances. His form has drawn attention from across Europe, with Frankfurt now said to be stepping up their pursuit ahead of the transfer window.

Celtic, however, are firmly in the mix. Reports from Tipsbladet suggest the club have scouted Kvistgaarden repeatedly this season and are “trying hard” to get a deal done. CeltsAreHere understands the player has a reduced release clause at £9 million that becomes active in the summer, making him a more accessible target than in previous windows.

The Hoops have long been linked with Kvistgaarden, and with Jota ruled out until Christmas with an ACL injury, attacking reinforcements are high on the agenda. Adam Idah is expected to be handed the central role in the short term, but Brendan Rodgers will want options heading into another demanding campaign at home and in Europe.

Frankfurt’s involvement may complicate matters, with the Bundesliga club reportedly accelerating talks. However, Celtic’s position as league champions and the chance for Kvistgaarden to lead the line at a club regularly competing for silverware could prove decisive.
