Leeds United fans have descended on the streets of Leeds during a Bank Holiday Monday to remember as the team took part in an open-top bus parade to celebrate their Championship title and promotion to the Premier League.

Across the city, football fans came out to catch a glimpse of the record breaking title-winning team as they celebrated on an open-top bus. The team secured the title following a 2-1 comeback victory against Plymouth on Saturday. Ending the season with 100 points alongside Burnley, it was the Whites’ better goal difference which secured them the title.

Now, after previously securing promotion to the Premier League, the team can also celebrate the silverware they bagged for winning the Championship title. With the future looking bright for the team, many fans have taken to the streets to join in the celebrations.

Fans were unable to attend a celebration parade at the end of the Covid-hit 2020 season when Marcelo Bielsa’s men were crowned champions with four games to go. This time, they most certainly made up for it.

Seas of blue, white and yellow can be seen across the city centre as supporters dress in club colours to celebrate. Fans took to climbing up mounted statues to have a better look at their title-winning heroes.

Here are photos from the open-top bus parade. Pictures by Gerard Binks.
