Leeds star face FA investigation after ‘notorious’ chant during Leeds Parade

Ethan Ampadu has landed himself in hot water after his antics during Leeds United’s Championship-winning parade.
Around 150,000 fans took to the streets of Leeds on Monday (5 May) as the Whites celebrated winning the Championship with 100 points and clinching automatic promotion to the Premier League.
While everyone was in a jolly mood, some appeared to have one drink too many, with Ampadu’s antics in particular attracting attention.
The Leeds captain was seen wearing a traffic cone over his head at one point, while he also suggested Junior Firpo was on his way out of Elland Road in another instance.
Ampadu faces FA action over Wilfried Gnonto chant
Ampadu also led a crude chant about Wilfried Gnonto, with the fans following suit, raising a few eyebrows in the process.
The expletive-laden chant gained popularity when the attacker initially arrived at the West Yorkshire club.
However, Leeds attempted to urge supporters to stop using the chant and be ‘more respectful’ to Gnonto by sharing an alternative lyric.

At the time, anti-discriminatory group Kick It Out contacted the Elland Road to highlight the ‘offensive’ nature of chants that perpetuate such stereotypes.
Therefore, Ampadu could now face an FA investigation over the ‘notorious’ chant, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported via their website on Tuesday (6 May) that the FA is aware of the video of the Wales international leading the chant and will look into the matter.
Daniel Farke in trouble over gesture during Leeds parade
Ampadu was not the only one who got carried away by the celebrations, as the FA has also taken note of a separate incident involving Daniel Farke.
The German tactician appeared to be great mood after Paraag Marathe publicly poured cold water on speculation about sacking the manager.
He was seen miming being a disc jockey at one point during the parade before pushing his finger against his nose, seemingly joking about snorting cocaine.
It now remains to be seen if he will face any action for his gesture.
