The 61-year-old former Manchester United and Manchester City star was attending the funeral of Danish agent Ole Frederiksen in Charlottenlund along with prominent ex-footballers.
They were all approached to be interviewed to pay tribute to him, but Schmeichel made it clear his thoughts on the controversy.
He said: “I will never ever talk to Ekstra Bladet because of the way you treated my son.
“And I say that here in the church.”
