Callum McGregor, Liam Scales and Adam Idah were recently in Dublin representing Celtic.
Of course, Celtic as a club have great and proud Irish roots, including many great players from Ireland representing the green and white colours.
As of this moment, Scales and Idah are Republic of Ireland internationals who are regular starters under Brendan Rodgers, whilst players like Johnny Kenny are ones to watch out for.
But, talking of Scales, he started his professional career at Shamrock Rovers, before Celtic snapped him up in 2021.
And, during Celtic’s recent visit to Dublin, the man holding the fort for the Scottish champions at the back spoke about his upbringing as a teenager, and it got a brilliant response from his skipper.

Callum McGregor responds to Liam Scales saying he has a ‘degree in Geography’
As a teenager, Scales shared that he spent ‘three years’ in Dublin playing for UCD (University College Dublin).
The 26-year-old then confirmed that he studied ‘Irish’ and ‘Geography’ during his time in education.
But when McGregor was given the mic, he couldn’t help but revisit those comments by slating the centre-back, including how he ‘struggled’ to get himself to his hotel room, yet he has a degree in Geography, as he told Celtic TV.
“I lived in Dublin for three years with UCD (University College Dublin),” shared Scales. “Then 18 months with Shamrock Rovers, before moving over to Glasgow.”
Celtic TV presenter: “It was Irish and Geography that you studied, wasn’t it, here?!” Scales responded: “It was, yeah.”
On whether he reflects on those days fondly: “They were brilliant,” added Scales. “The football was brilliant because I was part of a UCD team where we were all between the ages of 18-22. We were all living in the same complex. Playing games. Winning games. Going out together after. It was amazing. They were really good times.”
McGregor is then asked, ‘You are the captain, so you can say whatever you like. Is Scales the smartest man in the team?’
McGregor responds: “I was just going to say, ‘he has a degree in Geography?’ He struggled to get himself to the hotel room on Saturday.”

After spending time on loan at Aberdeen, not many expected Scales to become a regular starter at Celtic, but he has broken down that door.
Scales might be dividing opinion this season, but he had a breakthrough campaign last time out and is seemingly preferred over summer signing, Auston Trusty.
