Teenage sensation could arrive at Elland Road soon – Leeds United preparing huge bid – The Leeds Press

Leeds United have some areas of the squad they need to focus on this summer. The Whites return to the Premier League next season, and need to build a squad good enough to compete.

Daniel Farke’s side won a 100 points and lifted the league title, scoring 95 goals. However, last season’s top two in the division both had 90+ points and managed just 22 points. The gap between the newly promoted sides and the rest of the league continues to grow.

One way clubs can close the gap is by signing quality players. Leeds benefited from this when they were promoted back in 2020. The club signed Raphinha, Rodrigo Moreno and Robin Koch among a host of arrivals. Most of these players were from Europe’s top five leagues. Daniel Farke has made some great additions to the team over the last two seasons – using his experience in Germany to bring over Illia Gruev and Ao Tanaka massively benefitted the team.

With Farke set to work closely with recruitment this summer, some arrivals from leagues outside England should be expected. The Leeds United squad has question marks in the goalkeeping and center forward department. The Whites have not settled on a number one to replace Meslier, and are heading into next season with Joel Piroe as their main striker.

That could be set to change, as reports from Turkey have emerged. According to Fotospor, Leeds are preparing a bid for Besiktas youngster Semih Kilicsoy in the ‘coming days’. The Whites reportedly planned a meeting with the youngster and his representatives last week.

The 19-year old is expected to attract a lot of interest this summer.

Semih Kilicsoy could be a wildcard signing

The teenager has 14 goals in 31 starts in the Turkish league. Despite having just three goals this season, the potential is there.

Kilicsoy can play up top, out wide or in a front two. He has pace and physicality, and takes a lot of shots. His goal tally this campaign looks unimpressive, but Raphinha had just five league goals the season before he joined Leeds.

The club need depth up top, and bringing in the Besiktas star could be a valuable addition.
