Dundee Utd fan ‘caught mocking Ibrox disaster’ during Rangers clash just days after Celtic supporter lost job

A DUNDEE UNITED fan has been caught on camera appearing to mock the victims of the Ibrox disaster during his team’s match against Rangers.

It comes just weeks after a Celtic supporter was spotted taunting his club’s rivals with a similarly disgusting act during this month’s Old Firm derby.

That incident led to a police probe and the fan, Darren Malloch, has since been banned from Celtic Park indefinitely.

And now footage sent to the Scottish Sun from last night’s Premiership clash at Ibrox appears to show a supporter in the away section holding up six fingers then flashing all ten fingers six times.

He gestures towards the Rangers fans before he points to the ground, suggesting he was referencing the 66 fans who died in the 1971 stadium disaster.

They lost their lives after a stairway crush at an Old Firm game on January 2, 1971.

SunSport has contacted Rangers, Dundee United and Police Scotland for comment.

Hoops fan Mr Malloch also ended up losing his job at the construction firm he worked at.

Advance Construction Scotland described their now ex-employee’s actions as “completely unacceptable behaviour”.

Footage from the 1-1 draw between Rangers and Celtic at Ibrox showed Mr Malloch holding up his mobile phone towards opposition fans with the number 66 clearly visible on the handset.

A statement read: “We can confirm that an individual has been dismissed from our employment, following an incident involving completely unacceptable behaviour at the recent Rangers v Celtic football match.

“As a company, we hold all employees to the highest standards of conduct, both inside and outside the workplace.

“In line with our disciplinary procedures, we will not tolerate or condone this behaviour.

“We believe that Police Scotland is also investigating this incident, and therefore, we are unable to make any further comment on the matter.”
