No way he said that – Davide Ancelloti has enraged the whole of ibrox over shocking decision amid Rangers link

DAVIDE ANCELOTTI is STAYING with his dad Carlo as he moves to take up the Brazil job, according to reports in Spain.

That’s the shock news today after a couple of days where the Italian became a massive favourite for the vacancy at Ibrox.

We told you how the Real Madrid assistant manager emerged as a serious contender for the Ibrox vacancy earlier this week.

But the latest news from Real Madrid Insider Alberto Pereiro with Ondacero.es and various other Spanish outlets is that he’s STAYING alongside his dad in Brazil for at least another year.

The summer of 2026 is when the World Cup will be held in the US and Mexico – and Brazil will be among the favourites.

Pereiro writes: “Davide Ancelotti will remain alongside his father for at least another year.

“Just when it seemed the time had come to embark on his solo coaching career, the Brazilian project proved too lucrative to abandon his father, and he will remain in the duo with Carlo until at least the summer of 2026, when the World Cup will be held in the United States and Mexico.

“Everyone around the Ancelottis assumed the time had finally come to take the plunge and make a name for himself away from his father’s shadow, but the magnitude of his father’s project, once again, and the lack of “big” opportunities have postponed Davide’s desire to start a new phase of his life without Carlo’s tutelage.”

Ancelotti, 35, has worked alongside for the past 13 years.

Having initially began his coaching life as a fitness coach, he then became assistant manager under his dad at Bayern Munich and has fulfilled that role at every club since – Everton, Napoli and Real Madrid.

It had been expected that he would branch out on his own and take his first managerial role.

But news of his change of heart lends further uncertainty to what is sure to be a summer of change at Rangers as the US takeover led by Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises goes through.
