AS Roma have been in touch with Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo to offer him a two-year deal.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, relaying reports from Spain, who say that Espirito Santo is on Roma’s list of targets to replace Claudio Ranieri.
The veteran coach is set to leave Roma at the end of the season and return to retirement after rescuing his former club once again this season.
A long list of managers have been linked with the soon-to-be available position and now the Nottingham Forest manager can be added to that.
According to the report, Roma contacted Espirito Santo yesterday to offer him a two-year contract to take charge in Rome.
The report makes no mention of an exit from Nottingham Forest, just that Roma have been in touch with the Portuguese coach about the position.
Reports elsewhere, though, have indicated that Espirito Santo could be set to depart Nottingham Forest this summer after a falling out with Evangelos Marinakis behind the scenes.
Both parties have denied any dispute, particularly after their heated-on pitch discussion following the 2-2 draw with Leicester City earlier this month, but that has not stopped the rumour mill from kicking into work.
Now Roma are on the scene and reportedly offering a two-year deal for Espirito Santo to replace Claudio Ranieri this summer.
