Archie Gray Europa League moment goes viral as ex-Leeds United star copies leeds icon

 Archie Gray is on his way to the Champions League after winning the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur – and the ex-Leeds United youngster has channelled his inner Ronaldinho to celebrate!

Almost 12 months have passed since the highly-rated teenager left Elland Road for around £40million.

However, while that was a bittersweet moment for the Whites given his rapid rise from their academy – not to mention family connections – there is plenty to celebrate for anyone who still holds fondness for the midfielder.

Leeds will be reunited with Gray, 19, next season upon their dream return to the Premier League. And the Whites will be re-acquainted with him as a Champions League player, after Tottenham booked a place among Europe’s elite with victory over Manchester United in their Europa League final showdown.

A first-half goal from Brennan Johnson settled the scores, for Tottenham, who then introduced Gray in the 90th minute as he savoured victory and everything else that comes with it.

No sooner than Gray had a Europa League medal placed proudly around his neck, it was time for celebration as players, staff and supporters united for some iconic scenes in Bilbao and beyond.

Naturally, countless clips are doing the rounds on social media, with one in particular shared by Tottenham on X catching the eye for Gray’s brilliant Ronaldinho impression.

Getting in some practice for next season, a group of Tottenham players, including Gray, lined-up in the dressing room as if they were getting ready for a Champions League match.

The admin team at Tottenham did the rest, adding Champions League music to the clip, with Gray standing out.

Replicating that iconic, viral Ronaldinho moment from years gone by in which the Brazil legend rubbed his hands together while licking his lips, Gray did likewise in the clip – posted shortly after midnight and which has received plenty of attention from Tottenham fans and neutral observers alike.
